Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant - SG, 18th Jul 2009

It has been quite a while since I have come up to pen down in my blog..
Finally this is a day where me and my wife are waiting for.... its GATHERING TIME...
This is a time where we get all our HK friends to meet up to share what they have been doing and at the same to make new friends from HK too so that they will not feel lonely, and at least they can still find some of their own people here (an I am the only "speciese" that are in their kind)
We choose a place where it is out of town, and it is near to Vivo City and St James Power.. thats rite,,, it is none other then the Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant... It is a good restaurant since my last visit 3~4 years back.. let see how it fair this time
It does not has the fancy look like what u see in Orchard ... and that is why no people will expect to have a restaurant in this place
The restaurant do have valet parking service, I believe the reason for doing that is that there are just too many container truck coming in and out, so the valet really need to take good care of your care and shift your car as and when needed, if you are not driving, well dont worry abt them ..

now a shot of the restaurant...

and a close- up...

when you enter the lobby, you will be greeted with this big poster on what they have...

and this lift is where it will bring you up to nine floor

Interior decor is some how of old chinese setup, not antiques, but old setup, so you really dont see any pow-wow decor like you see in Crystal Jade Paragon, Imperia Taka, or even Tung Lok Signature... well it is simple enough and pleasant even though it is old

Table setup are user friendly

pickles and steam peanut is always a good snack to start up your meal

the disappointing part is the menu, nothing fantastic, and they are pictures in it for you to see what you are going to order... so it really need some kind of imagination

Since this is a revolving restaurant, let me take the first short... and it says Welcome to you at the top of the building.. should i say water tank?

We order some "har-kao"..  looks delicious, but when you bite on it.. well it does fit for consumption, it will taste better if they can use fresh prawns

this "char siu rice roll" presentation is really not tempting, it is soggy on the skin... it is kind of hush hush job like " are they rushing to go back home"

"Char Siu bun" has a nice shape, steamy, it has to be great this time.. a bite will make you experiencing buns sticking in between your teeth, and you need to drink more tea to gargle all the "debris" away from your teeth

next.. Phoenix claw, look more like mushy claw to me, no taste, soggy, and I give up

"Siu mai" is ok.. nothing fantastic... by now, this is the OK one...

next come the "prawn rice roll", it is the same as the char siu rice roll, soggy on the skin.. just one bite is good for me

since we have so many "nice" comments on the steam dim sim, lets try their fried stuff
I cant remember what is this, we suppose to dip it with salad cream.... salad cream is nice.. but this... I think u will need to think twice...

no nice word on this .. this is the Worst Fried Carrot Cake !!!!
DONT RISK IT...

While we were eating all this "delicious" stuff, here are some shots from the outside

I think the restaurant should buck up in some way, I think the only way they can survive till now is not the food, it is the revolving restaurant that attracts people to come as there arent many revolving restaurant here...
Well.. i will give 2/5 on their dim sum...
I wonder how they fair on the main cuisine... let me know if u have or going to try them...
