Today is a special day for all mother.. that's right it is Mothers day celebration..
This was planned since 2 weeks ago and had announced to all my siblings about it...
We had reserved a table for 13 pax at The Cathay restaurant.. in the past we had tried their dim sum and it was quite good and this time we wanted to try their infamous cantonese dishes too..
As you can see, when we reach the place, the staff is still receiving some kind of briefing inside the restaurant.  While we are waiting patiently.. it is my chance to take some pictures..


The Cathay restaurant is located inside the The Cathay building, which also has a long history of movie show, we can also see some of the olden days movie shots and pictures of movie stars..


We were ushered to a corner of the restaurant that has a nice outdoor view, as though the place is exclusive to us...

the table was nicely set up, and the table plates, chopsticks are neatly place too

as usual the menu is a big red book

and the varieties are still colourful with pictures...

we ordered the Black Pepper Venison, the chef has nicely presented this dish to us.. the venison taste tender and with it black pepper sauce, it has a little spiciness.. and with its big chunk cube of meat.. the black pepper blends in very well.. and it is very tasty and delicious, and i can see many of us have many serving on this.. hehehe

Next was the Ginko Nut, Fungus and Mushroom vege.. the restaurant did not stinge on the ingredients, in fact, they have more of every vege and is enough for everyone...

this Brocolli with garlic is specially ordered for the 3 little girls that came today, as it is their favourite :P

HK Kailan with rice wine ginger will be of course meant for the adults.. as this dish is not something special,, and there is nothing to crow about.

here come the next exciting dish, the Sweet and Sour Pork... according to the waiteress that service our table,, this is the one of the famous dish that restaurant is well known off... the sauce is not too sour or not too sweet, and it taste just rite, as for the pork, it is very lean and not fat, and while you are chewing on it, it is tender, juicy, and I actually had 4 pcs for myself :P

Next will be the Scallop Prawn Mushroom claypot, very tasty and special, the only thing that I dont really like is that the claypot is too big. If we are talking abt the food... ingredients are fresh, prawns are bouncy and chewy, bean curd has really absorbed all the nice gravy..

Mum has specially request a plate of half Roast Crispy Chicken, I think we should order a full chicken instead of half.. but.. the chicken is good, as this is a roast chicken, it is not really very fat, meat is soft, tender and lean, and not to foget to mention the chilli, it is sweet spicy and a little sourish that mix well with the chicken too

Last dish will be the Seafood Horfun Noodle.. we taste better one at Hua Song .. but the dish here is not that bad...

and finally desserts time,,.. Mango Pudding

Black Glutinous Rice Ice Cream.. this one I think I need to recommend to everyone,, not only it is unique, but it is not that sweet at all, and of course with the ice cream with it,, everyones loves it very much.. and remember after u have finish the the Black Glut rice and ice-cream, do remember to eat the coconut meat too.. as it is soft and juciy too..
