文章日期:10/21/2010 05:11 pm
It is a bad hazy day for Singapore today, all thanks to our neighbouring country Indonesia for clearing the forest by setting up fire...
But it will not deter us from going to one of Singapore oldest monastry.. thats right, it is none other then the Lian Shain Shuang Lin Monastry (once mentioned by Cat Lover).. I can only capture some of the structures and the greenery, as the management do not allowed photograph taking on its buddha statue as to show respect..
It is still fun taking pictures in the monastry.. i will try my best to describe it.. or you can even check out this website too
http://www.shuanglin.sg/
We left our house around 9 am so as not to meet up the early hours traffic jam...
it took us around 20 mins to reach, if you know the way, the monastry is just located in the heart of Singapore, Toa Payoh. Some area are still renovation or rebuilding..
Took some pictures on entrance and the internal structures .. looks impressive isnt it...
there are many small unit in it, where the monastry house their Buddhas, Goddess of Mercy, Luohan, Guan Gong, the best part that i like is the the last unit where they house the Thousand Hand Buddha.. this is really impressive..

this pagoda capture my attention immediately, especially the tip of the roof, just wondering if it is made of gold

and at the lower level of the pagoda, you will see all the fierce general guarding the entrance to the pagoda

Some interesting piece which I think it is detailed enough for photo shooting..  i will try my best to take some good shots as i am not using any DSLR cam, just a normal dummy camera

I especially like anything with dragon carve onto anything, as it symbolise freedom, confident and power..

when u are walking into the monastry, you will be immediately greeted by this two lion, now let me take some candid shot on them

lets check out their detail ceiling... frankly speaking, I believe every details represent something, but I just dont know what is it

another great antiques, a giant burner right in the middle of the monastry... if you look close on its base, it was carve with 12 chinese horoscope on it, and i actually tooks shots for both horse and sheep

I am one persone that really likes anything that is green.. when i see this, i was totally fall in love with it.. the Giant Bansai

how nice it will be if all this can be plant outside my corridor...

has anyone come upclose to see the lotus.. in this monastry.... you can

and some nice flower blooming too

if you really check out the detail of the whole monastry, even the drain cover are in style too

this monastry really opens up my eye, i think i will go there again next month..
