August Gathering - Lao Beijing Novena #1
It is once again our Hong Kong friends once a month gathering. Everyone has been waiting for this moment to meet up and catch up what is the latest happening from them, their family and their friends..
As for this month, we are having it Lao Beijing Novena.. initially we thought of having it in Plaza Singapura (PS), but after a careful thinking, PS is a place which is very prone to traffic jam especially coming down from Orchard Road, and not forgetting that heavily packed multi-storey carpark..
Surprisingly, Novena was jammed too! there was this long car queue outside this Catholic Church... just wondering what is happening last night...
Here we are outside of Lao Beijing (LBJ)...
Lets go in and see what is the different between the PS and Novena (LBJ)
Old Chinese cool decor is in place, I wonder if the actual Beijing is having this kind of setting
and some wine jug and packed wheat on its high storage too...
PS LBJ is dark and cosy, while Novena LBJ is bright and spacious.. i really like the Novena LBJ brightness, but with its ceiling so high, we really cant hear what our friends is talking as the sound actully travel upwards... :(
now, here come out first minute min appetiser for a start
here comes one 1st group of friends, we have Matt, Evon, Grace, Irene and jhouse
let us shift to this wondering wall calligraphy art. I am not a fan of this kind of art, but it sure is a grand piece hanging in the hallway
next the YeungYeung (YY) couple is here and start to analyse the menu
next guest Emily
and here mommy and daddy dearest (MD and DD)
we are lucky to have 2x $100 coupon from Emily and MD..
and now lets start ordering some food
there are 3 types of fungi in this dish, it is one of favourite.. it taste fresh and tasy, and if you go together with rice, it sure is a perfect match.. and this is a dish you must order
Xiao Long Bai is one of their signature dish that u have to try... its skin are thin and yet it has the power to contain its hot meat soup within it... but remember you have to eat hot, and eat it carefully, you dont want to hurt your mouth and your tongue (hahahahaha)

you can see the young one is really enjoying his food, and he even watch what Ann is giving to his younger brother
