Here is one great place that I think you should or you should bring your children to...
This place is really educational and you can to know how the British plan their war in this area and at the same time how the Japanese use this area too
They actually have a guided tour. so you dont have to worry getting lost in the underground bunker... you can also check out more details by visit this website http://www.legendsfortcanning.com/fortcanning/battlebox.htm

Finally we found the ticketting office, it is not very far away from car park B.. do take note that dont go between 12~1 pm, as they are closed for lunch during lunch hour

the cashier counter is actually very shaddy dark, but thanks to my camera which I made this are bright again for 1 seconds.

While we were waiting for the guided tour to begin,,, here are some poster for you to read through on how the Japanese plan the route of attack in asia

some nostalgia poster

this is our entry ticket to the bunker...

immediately you can tell from this design, you are actually in the prehistoric building

we are now entering the battle box..

just a note of cautious... this bunker is 9m depth.. all handphone signals will be cut-off

we were guided to the old conventional way of communicating with the outside war during war period... this is the ang-moh operator...

I think they are not real workable equipment and it is just a mock up set

now.. this is the decipher room, where all the agents will decode all the secret messages throught this room

I really like this phone..

Now .. i dont think you will what this pipe is use for.... and u will never guess it..
the left tube is where you put the message in, it will suck up the messages that the agents trying to send to another room.. as for the right tube, that is where the agent will receive messages from their top ranking from another room.. so you can see, during the 1940s,,,, they already have this sophisticated way to sending messages...just wonder how the mechanism works.
