Red Star Restaurant 红星酒家 (SG), 25/2/2008

This is a very unusual Saturday, my mum actually call and said why not we have our dinner outside together... in fact, this is the best suggestion I have heard, my mum instructed my sis to do a mass SMS to all my siblings and all has agreed to go out to have our dinner.. as for the location and restuarant.. my mum has choose the famous RED Star Restaurant which is located near Chin Swee Road...
This restaurant has brought back a lot of old memories when we were young..
I can still remember the push cart dim sum (which they still do now), singers singing on stage, and those colourful jellies..:)
Red Star is always strong in the local cusine compare to dim sum.. if you were to ask me how is their dim sum.. I think you can skip this place.. but on the other hand,, you can try their local dish.. which is very good and tasty.. yummy yum yum


Inside the restaurant, I think there are at least more than 50 round tables, and it comes with a stage in the middle.. it will be good for people who are thinking of having a mass invitation.. the place may look a little old fashion, but it really brings back the good old days

Fried Golden Bean Curd - their bean curd is soft and tender, and it is splurted with thick stock with egg white... this is one of the good dish that you will want to try.

Mixed Vegetable clayport - very rich in vege, black fungus, cauliflower; mushroom, kidney bean, green pepper, and for people who are on vege diet.. this is a claypot should not be miss out from the menu

Sea Cucumber Claypot - wow.. one of the expensivie delicacy in the Chinese food... nicely braised.. the sea cucumber is not too hard and soft, and when u bite into it.. you can really feel the nice bouncy feeling... this is a must try dish.

Fried Yam Pot... this is also a very interesting dish.. yam are juicy and not over fried, and it is soft, with the chicken cut cube with green and red pepper in it.. it makes a perfect match

Crispy Roast Chicken - when it first presented on our table, u can still hear the fresh crispy sound... the skin is crispy skin, the meat is tender and juicy... in fact, the picture is self-explanatory

Combo Seafood Hor Fun - this is the last dish that we always ordered.. horfun are not over burnt.. with its reach seafood and thick stock.. it really makes you want to have more (I actually have 2 rounds of it).. hahaha..
