Orchid Decoration in Taipei International Airport - Feb 2008

Orchid Decoration in Taipei International Airport

When we are on our way back from Taiwan to HK..
there is this huge Orchid decoration in the middle of the departure lobby..
I find it very interesting and at the same time I like to take pictures on orchid..you might ask me why orchid..  As I notice.. most of the flowers on earth.. orchid has the most variety, and it comes in different size, colours, etc... and I can still remember when I was in school.. my art teacher will specifically want me to draw the orchid to hang up on the notice board.. reason given is that I can get the colour right on the paper.. if you are asking me now can I still draw now.. probably I need to warm up a few weeks... hahaha
enjoy viewing...

My Birthday Present from a Best Friend in Taiwan - "頂! 上青雲"

文章日期:10/16/2008 07:38 pm

It was my birthday yesterday, my best friend Julia from Taiwan told me not to leave the office as she has sent something to me as my birthday present..
I was trying to dig more information from her, wanting to know what is she giving me, and she just said, dont worry, and I will like it.... as for me, I was murmuring on the phone .. is it some snacks? cakes? or some IT gadgets? Julia just giggle away, and she is preparing to leave for a company Korea trip..
anyway, I did not receive it yesterday, until today, 16th.. my colleague from the warehouse called me.. "hanrik, you have a gift from DHL".. I was stunned for a while, and told myself, it was suppose to reach here yesterday :)...
OMG, Julia sent me this Crystal Glass as a birthday gift, i just cant believe my eyes, and it is from LIULI..
I hereby would like to share this prestigious moment with everyone on this wonderful gift.. "頂上青雲" also called Clouds of Excellence...

Singapore Old Supreme Court - SG, 1st Aug 2008

Singapore Old Supreme Court - SG, 1st Aug

文章日期:08/13/2008 09:23 am
1st of August will be the last day to be open to the public view as Singapore Government will convert its interior for the sake of Arts and it will be also the last day for any court hearing..
This tour attraction was spotted by my wife, and she was so curious how the interior court and jail bar looks like.. The Supreme Court is holding a open house for 1 month and most of the day was fully booked.. but nonetheless, we booked the last day of the tour, and to catch the last glimpse of how the old courts looks like

1st we need to register ourselves at the new Supreme Court, and this pass is a licence for you to walk around the court.

now... assume we are convicts, and we are to enter through this horrific gate and was then greeted by a young warden who dressed up in 50s~60s police uniform,, he was stern then.. anyway, it was meant for entertainment...

Convicts was then brought to their cell while awaiting for their calls to court.. it can be as long as a few days or weeks..
each cell will consists of a bench, toilet and a cup

This will be the stairs to the court of appeal... dont u find that eerie?

Now the dark corridor will lead you to a trap door then to the court as below, the the accused will be in the small little window box (clockwise)

here are the seats where the chief jude be sitting, follow by the jury or media press stand, and the recorder ...me ...hehehe (clockwise)

Lawyer will be sitting on their table, follow by the spectator and family member will be sitting on the circle area (clockwise)

Now... here is the room where the Chief judge will be working, that will be the Chief Justices Chambers...

This will be the room... the writing table was specially design .. there is a air duct underneath the table where a breeze of air will circulate the whole room, before air-conditioning was introduced.

the wooden cabinet and furniture was specially made by a renowned carpentry.. and you can see how exquisite the workmanship was...

here is the front entry to the court

old lift, old safe and a old room, and this will be all gone....

hope some of this will be retain as it is really a historical piece

here is the stairway to the hall of justices

even the judges has their own lift

look at how old the hardware is.. and as we walk along, we were told that the floor tile was specially made of high grade rubber.  The purpose of this is to absorb all walking noises especially those with noisy heels

The tour is very educational, and really glad that we are able to view how the court looks like as we can only see courts appearance in paper or on TVs...
The old Supreme court will still be there... and we will be able to patronise again after their renovation by 2012...
Dear Supreme Court, we will see you there....
