It was raining heavily last nite, thunder was heard every 1 min, and lightning was flash every few seconds... and I was telling my wife as if the one above us is crying while taking some digital photo of our mother earth underneath them :P
We did not go for our swim today, as we know that after the heavy rain, the water will be cold, so we decided to go for our swim tomorrow...
My wife has already plan to go to Lot 1 for lunch as she has not been here for almost a year..
When we reach the place.. wow.. we found another food court, which is very modernise and more varieties to choose from..
The entrance is very pleasant and and user friendly...

and before you even walk into the food court... you are already greeting by the yummy recommendation of food on the poster

as for me I decided to order from this Korean booth..

you can see the place is crowded

Kimchi Noodle is what I ordered.. this is not bad afterall.. the soup taste rich with chilli and kimchi, beef and chicken meat taste tender, and the noodle texture is great.. when my wife taste the soup, she really likes it very much, and she made a promise that she want to eat this the next time she come here...

My wife stopped by a Japanese stall, not really crowded.. and the stall are not really attractive

the menu are not as eye capturing as the Korean

but she go ahead with the salmon katsu set, which comes with fried pork chop, fried  salmon, japanese rice, pickles and mayo dip for the pork chop

well.. pickle taste more like chinese then jap, as I can remember that Jap doesnt serve any chinese pickles at all.. but it taste good anyway

the pork chop taste crispy, of course the only disklike is the they have slice it too thin, i think it is due to the rising cost, and you really cant complain much as this is a food court and not a restaurant.. :P

and the pathetic salmon, thin slice and too be frank, it is really blend in taste and i think they have over done it

wait till you see this,, miso soup... blend, tasteless, and ugly

there are some other stores too, like hongkong siu lup, chicken rice, and many other stall.. and  I think we will come here again...
you can always take a train down to the Choa Chu Kang MRT, take a walk to
Lot 1, Food Junction, Level 4....
there are tonnes of nice varieties awaiting you.. enjoy...

And since 1st of May falls on the thursday, I have decided to take a take off on the 2nd May so that I can have a long weekend and take this opportunity to be with my wife :P
this time, we wanted to watch the movie "Iron Man" and it is the 2nd day screening here in Singapore, and where shall we go? Downtown East, yes.., it is located right at the east of Singapore, Downtown east has just erected recently, and we want to explore this place out .. and of course food is the main topic...
The place is very new, they have all the food, east, west, and we stop by this Super Dog restaurant... it looks like fast food to us.. but lets go in and check it out...

the staff are friendly and polite

the menu are easy to read :P

and since it is new, the traffics are not packed.. probably it will be in another 1 week time..

and at least this restaurant tells the do's and dont's of eating a hot dog..

we ordered 2 different set.. one will be the Bacon Chilli Cheese hot dog, and Capscum Chicken dog with fries

This fries are good, and I can tell you, it is will be the no 2 after macdonald fries

This is the one I am having, Bacon Chili Cheese Hot Dog, it is not spicy at all, and it does has that mexico taste like the taco, bacon are tendor and hot dog is really juicy... by far, this is the best dog i have tried .. but Joan did mention she had one better

My wife is having this Capscum Chicken dog, sausage is tender and juicy, so far she commented not bad ..

we sat near to the window that we can take a picture of the mini singapore flyer..

here is the place,

A few weeks ago, a group of friends were supposed to have a gathering here, but at the end, we dont have the chance to come.. but if you are to check the website.. they actually do serve some nice set lunch here.. do take note that they dont serve set lunch on weekend... :(
So me and my wife were looking forward for the set lunch, but as per my mentioning a few words ago.. we were disappointed.. but nonetheless,, we still proceed with our usual adventure.. and hopes you can get some food out of it...
By the look at the entrance, it really gives you a feel of a upper class restaurant.. a little dark, but quite cosy.. I really must say

When we first walk-in.. everyone is busy preparing for the day, so they really didnt notice us standing at the entrance for the past 10 mins, and was later usher to table for 2..

The Menu is very colourful, and by the look at it actually give you the appetite, adn looking forward to taste the chef standard.. the restaurant service 2 set of menu on weekend.. A-la-carte set and buffet set... as for the buffet set, they serve mainly sushi and sashimi.. Frankly speaking, we are not here to eat sushi.. and we are here for the REAL food.. and we ask for the A-La-carte.. the waiteress look at us and confimed if we are ordering the A or B.. of course A.. and that is what I told her... reluctantly, she took away the buffet menu and asking if we are ready to order...
OMG.. we did not even warm up our seat for 5 mins, and already ask me if we can order ! I gave a stern a look, and talk nicely we are not ready yet.. and she walk away after getting my answer..
Back to the restaurant...

We ordered the green tea.. I am very please with the teaware they present.. nice tea pot as compare to most of the Japanese restaurant...

Nice tea cup and plates,, the restaurant really wants to give u that zen ambience..

and then, they serve u a appetiser.. i think, a small little cup with tofu underneath and a small pc of tuna on top of it, with some soya sauce and sesame oil added to it.. my wife doesnt really fancy it, and I really dont find it interesting too.. but at least we experience it..

We ordered a plate of Ehire (Dried Stingray Fin), it is hard when you first bite and soft after mixing with you saliva, not really salty, but it does has some sweet after taste.. this is a really good plate if you are going out with a bunch of friends having beer or sakae.. good side dish for it.

next we ordered a California Hand roll, this is the fullest handroll we have taste so far... rich in ingrdients and fresh avocado, and with its thick crab meat stick.. its really yummy... I really dont mind having another roll...

here is the close up

here come the Gohan set, which comes with rice, miso soup and pickles..

we ordered Gyuniku Shogayaki.. the beef are thin and tender, ,and with it special sauce, it really wants you eat more rice,, with the sweet sauce been suck into the meat.. they are really juicy... this is a dish I think you must try...

next the Agedashi tofu, a little spicy, and it is not hot at all compare to some of the restaurant that we have tried... the skin is not crispy at all, and tofu is just ok.. sauce is great and not salty... but really like the presentation, it is not dull at all after the chef has garnish it.. so this dish will have a vote from me.. on garnishing...

That is all we had, and the total bill will be S$ 56.... as for the verdict, food are ok, restaurant  are good for family and friend gathering, if they can add a little more light, that will be great
The only dislike will be service, they are not sharp and caring, and I believe the manager need to address this area...
well.. if you are nearby that area.. you can always give it a try...
they are located at :
