Lunar New Year Eve hotel Check-in - City Garden Hotel

Here we are, after around an hour ride on the bus, we are finally here...
This is the first time we are staying in this hotel, the exterior are really not fantastic

but when you are inside the lobby, it really gives you a cosy feeling and it doesnt has so much of PRC tourist staying here..

another surprise is that instead of check-in through the lobby counter.. we were told to take a lift to their business centre which is on the 25th level...

we were "greeted" by all this nice dessert upon reaching the business centre.. we were tempted to grab it, but we didnt... after finishing our check-in procedure

here we are on the 17th level

room 1718.. it is really a auspicious number..."yat chai yat fatt"

the room is of a cosy contemporay design, which we really like it compare to Harbour North Point.. the room is spacious

Toilet is clean and neat

bar necessities are all set

cosy lighting really makes u want to sleep immediately.. BUT.. remember that brunch we had on plane?.. it is just not enough to fill our stomach.. and it is time to hunt for food.

we spotted this "Dai Ka Jie"... lets pop in

this eating outlet really has the authentic HK style ... chopstick, sauce, chilli oil

quite spacious too... wait till you see when it is lunch time

they have quite a selection of noodles too for you to satisfy your hunger

we ordered this fish cake and fish ball noodle,,, it really taste good especially with a hungry stomach.. Soups are hot and tasty when you need it to heat you up when you are out walking against the cold wind and weather

Joan ordered a Beef Brisket noodle for herself... it taste better then mine, but if "dai ka jie" can add more brisket suace to it.. it is really a heavenly dish

this was recommended by MD,, you still can get this in Singapore Shop n Save.. but it seems like it is cheaper in Malaysia...

we bought this sausage pizza bread from La Boheme

and this local snack from Lavender bakery ... and this will serve us during the 3 pm tea time

It is lunch time,,, after waiting for C and B finishing their Jusco shopping, Cherry suggested that we should try this EL MIGOS.. a Mexican bistro... so.. let tuck in

This is the best and colourful and detailed menu I have ever seen... and it is in hard cover

before you even eat their food, you are already drooling with saliva by browsing their menu

the place is really cosy, and it is a good place to rest, chat and eat after the whole shopping day

1st here comes my cup if Americano... good aroma and smooth texture...

my wife has ordered her Mushroom Pink spaghetti... it creamy sauce goes well with some tomatoe taste, and with mushroom added into it.. it sure is one of the must try dish over here

Brian has ordered his Grilled Cheezy Steak.. bythe look at his face expression.. he really enjoy his food... no doubt about it...

as for me and Cherry, we have ordered this BBQ Chicken Chop... this is specially recommended by Cherry..
When I first bite into the chicken, its juices splash inside your mouth.. the meat is tender, and with its special sauce on it.. it has that tinkling spicy feeling that keeps telling you.. " i got to have more, more more".. hahaha a little exaggerating ... but nonetheless... this one.. die die must order dish

after our lunch... it is time to head home... this is the scene that you will get to see after the Malaysia custom...

we were caught in the traffic jam for a while.. but it is worth it...

I have always wanted to drive into JB, Malaysia, myself, it is just that, I really dont know the road well.. you can say.."hey.. you are a Singaporean, you should know the way" yeah.. by taxi that i know of..
out of the sudden, Cherry mentioned last nite that she and Brian will be driving in today to do some shopping.... since this is a nice opportunity.. lets do it.. and Brian will lead me "the blind Singaporean" . hahahahaha
we started off from Choa Chu Kang ard 8.45 am.... it took us not long reaching the Singapore Custom.. traffic was not heavy.. so we are quite lucky in the morning..

after clearing the Singapore custom, here we are on the Causeway, which is in-between Singapore and Malaysia

here are some "nice" view along the way

now we have reach our destination, 1st stop TESCO.. Tesco is a big hyper mart which is similar to Giant.. price are reasonable, I think we will do a lot of our shopping here in the future... but the place here are not that attractive compare to Jusco

2nd stop Tebrau Jusco..

Look how modern the place is.. it really brings in the middle and upper class into this place...
looks familiar isnt it :p

and not forgetting some makan restaurant and cafe too

while wating for Cherry and Brian,  you can see the human traffic around the Jusco supermarket.. me and my wife were looking forward enjoying ourselve.. but when we see the over crowded store.. we totally lost our interest shopping.. but,, we will come again .. probably in mid June..

Its bakery store is so full of varieties comparing to some bakering in Singapore...we have patronised this Lavender

and we patronised this LaBoheme too.. you will get to see what we purchased in part 3 of my blog

this was a sneaky shot taken from Dunkin Donuts...

and here are some im-promptu shot .. quack quack
