YAYOIKEN Jap Restaurant @ Liang Court

I have not been updating my blog for quite sometime, and thought of coming back again on place we patronise before. This time we revisit the Japanese restaurant that we find they are value for money, yup its Yayoiken located at Liang Court basemet. we are very lucky that we are able to get seats, so our eating protocol begins.

They have two of ordering method, one of them will be you can order via the tablet that is installed on top partition, its more for those IT savvy where they are just lazy to flip through the menu.  The other type will be probably mean for diner who just want to order the old fashioned way via the colour menu.

Their colourful menu is really full of surprises.. which you really want to eat every thing.  But we just have to order what we can consume.

I have ordered this Chicken Namban Teishoku, the picture show on the menu is really what you see is what you get.

Main dish will  chicken marinated with sweet soy sauce top with their own tartar sauce, compliment with cold tofu and cold salad dress with roast nut sauce which is just too perfect, and not forgetting the great taste of miso soup.

Chicken are tender and juicy, marinated with sweet soy sauce does bring it to the next level to tingle your tongue, top with tartar sauce is sure something new to try out, but even without the tartar sauce is still taste good.

Wifey ordered a Yasai Itame Teishoku.  Its main dish will be fried cabbage with slice pork belly, and will compliment with cold tofu as side dish and miso soup.

Its stir fried cabbage with sliced pork belly is actually from one of the Chinese dish, but after going through the perfection of Japanese way of doing it, it doesn't taste oily and if you are to eat it together with japanese rice… you will definitely refill another bowl of rice..

Please note, if you ordered any set with rice, their rice is free flow, and no extra charges.

Well.. if you are hungry now… go for it…

Happy eating.

HUNGRY HEROES @ Tessonsohn

I have been hearing this from many Marvel and DC fans that there is such a Heroes theme cafe which is not far from my place, its about 10 mins drive from Toa Payoh. Now, if you are thinking of doing a walk-in, please don't, try to do a reservation as its fully book most of the day, especially lunch and dinner time.

The facade is nothing interesting, its a repaint from a stretch of old conservation terraces.

But once you are inside, you will definitely taking pictures all the way, not only you will see figurines on the 1st level, the cafe also has a vast collection on the 2nd level too.

There are figurines like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman,  some are 1/6, and some are 1:1 size

On the 2nd level, you will also get a chance to see some portrait on celebrities, a life size of Superman and Batman too.

If you are thinking of going to the washroom, no worries, 1:1 life size Captain America is guarding the door for you.

You have seen the old Captain America, now here comes the new version of Captain America.

As now is the season of Marvel's heroes, you will also get to see the Thor and Iron Man Mark 6 too

After touring the whole place, its time to sit down to check their menu out.

They have some signature dish. So I have ordered my pork ribs for myselfs and dory fish and chips

The pork ribs that I ordered is quite lean in meat, but lucky it sauce that covers it that given me the full energy to chomp all the way, but given another choice to recommend, its fries is one of the best fries me and wifey have tried, crispy fresh, and tasty, it is so much better then McD.

Dory fish portion is quite small, so it will compliment more to the ladies then guys. Fish is tender and juicy, its buttery gravy is not really that heavy so it really a perfect match if some are on diet.

Over all experience is fun as the figurines really motivate mrs fans to be there.  But I will not hesitate to patronise them again, as I wanted to try all their food .

Have fun taking picture all the way.

Triple-O's Burger @ Orchard

There are Fat Boy's, Omakase, and many other great burgers chain except McD and BK. There is another great burgers chain that I would like to recommend and they use fresh patties and I find them quite authentic too. Who they are? They are the Triple-O's. their price is reasonable compare with FB and Oma, and any side dish that i like will be it sweet potatoes fries…

There is another reason why I like T-O's, their patty are really thick and juicy.

When you enter the retail, all varieties are on the wall, bright and colourful, and they even have milk shake too.

Now, they even tell you all history about T-O's on the wall, so that you don't have to google it, even though you still can find them on the web.

Seating place is cosy, you can even have meeting or even small gathering here too.

Here comes our burgers… i always ordered my favourite signature beef burger, and my wifey the Mushroom Chicken burger.

packing is tight and to keep them warm at all time

Lets undress the wrapper… see what I mean, it is really thick, juicy, and one thing is for sure, just ignore the messiness on you finger when you eat the burger..
